The Indonesian MotoGP round returns to the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit on the island of Lombok this week, with the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia scheduled from 9 to 11 October 2026.
Mandalika is one of the Asia-Pacific swing’s most distinctive venues. The circuit runs along the southern coast of Lombok with the Indian Ocean as backdrop - a setting unlike any other on the MotoGP calendar - and has drawn strong international crowds since joining the championship’s roster.
The circuit and surrounding area
Mandalika is part of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (MNSEZ), a government-developed tourism precinct on Lombok’s south coast. The circuit is integrated into the Novotel Mandalika resort precinct, with grandstand seating overlooking both the race track and the beach.
For visitors extending beyond the race weekend, south Lombok offers some of Indonesia’s most accessible surf breaks at Kuta Lombok and Mawi, and the SEZ has restaurants, hotels, and beach facilities that continue to be developed. The Gili Islands - Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air - are reachable by fast boat in under an hour from Bangsal on the northwest coast, making them a natural add-on to a Lombok visit.
Getting to Lombok for the race
Lombok International Airport (LOP) receives direct flights from Bali (roughly 25 minutes), Jakarta, Surabaya, and several other Indonesian cities. From Bali, a fast boat crossing from Padang Bai to Lembar or Senggigi takes two to three hours and is popular among travellers combining both islands.
Grandstand and premium hospitality tickets for this weekend’s race are sold out, but general admission and standing zone access may be available at the venue. Accommodation around Mandalika and Kuta Lombok has limited availability at short notice - Mataram, the provincial capital thirty minutes north, has more hotel stock.
